One
of the inherent aspects of the CQRT Project is that the consumers
are gainfully employed. As consumers, their perspectives enable
the information garnered through the interviews to have additional
depth and texture.
Job
Training
With
the movement toward managed care in mental health, the market
demand is growing for independent, objective evaluation services
to monitor and review managed care practices. CQRT interviewers
have the opportunity to learn and develop skills that will be
in demand as managed care takes hold, and to use these skills
to gain professional employment.
Personal
Growth
The
CQRT training has other benefits as well. The autonomous scheduling
and tracking of interviews, completion of paperwork, and interactions
with teammates and others provides numerous opportunities for
personal growth experiences for everyone involved. As one NEO
Interviewer put it:
"I
first came to CQRT 2 years ago struggling to get my life back
on track after severe depression took its toll. I felt I had
nothing to offer (no skills). I did not believe I was valuable
as a human being, let alone worthwhile as an employee. CQRT
turned all that around for me. It helped me regain my self-
confidence and my sense of worth. CQRT turned out to be a ray
of light leading to a rainbow of self-worth, self-esteem, and
meaningful employment."
