C.Q.R.T. - Consumer Quality Review Team
To Increase Positive Outcomes For People Who Use Mental Health
Services.
In 1996, the Ohio Department of Mental Health in collaboration
with Ohio Advocates for Mental Health established two (2) Consumer
Quality Review Teams (CQRTs) to provide a consumer-driven mechanism
for the external review of the publicly funded mental health system
in Ohio. QSAN, Inc. and Q.R.S. Inc. are the two projects in the
state of Ohio. For more information on Q.R.S. Inc. please visit
their website at qrsinc.org
- CQRT is an innovative approach
using teams of consumers and family members to assess and improve
the quality and access of community mental health systems.
- This assessment is based on feedback from people
who use the mental health services, their significant others,
and providers of services.
- The CQRT project serves as an
independent external review of public mental health services through
"consumer operated" evaluation processes to maximize
the potential of obtaining accurate perspectives.
- After the review, CQRT assists
with the implementation of improvements that need to be made by
networking with stakeholders.
- QSAN originally involved
six counties in Northeastern Ohio. Recently seventeen more counties
decided they wanted to join in on the important work we do. We
now service twenty-three counties in most of Eastern Ohio!
